Pleasantries Adult Day Program is a social supportive model located in a residential home setting within a lakeside neighborhood in Marlborough, MA. Ten to fourteen guests attend daily to eliminate loneliness, boredom, and depression. Our program specializes in memory impairment disorders such as Alzheimer’s or other dementia. Pleasantries is a non-medical program serving guests who are in the earlier to mid-stages of the disease process. We follow a guest-directed philosophy giving our guests the ability to exercise decision-making and personal choice.

Pleasantries focuses on the facilitation of all day purposeful and engaging activities. Socialization has been proven to slow down any dementia disease process. Guests of Pleasantries participate in cognitive, physical, and psychosocial activity. The opportunity is created to develop a new social network of friends. Attending results in increased self-esteem as the guest participates in failure-free, successful activities based on their current abilities and interests. Our guests feel as if they are visiting their family member’s home. The non-institutional feel helps to successfully create the much needed safe, supportive, and loving environment.
