I have found a diamond in Metro West. Where you ask? It is a place called Pleasantries. Sounds lovely doesn’t it? Well it is a wonderful home-away-from-home for my dad. Let me tell you a little more.Pleasantries is an Adult Day Program that my dad attends several days a week. When I asked him what he liked best about Pleasantries he said, “I especially enjoy being around all of the people.” I know that means not only the guests but the caring staff as well.It is a wonderful and stimulating environment where all enjoy themselves. The guests are always respected. It is a happy, fun-loving, and caring social atmosphere. The staff and guests truly care about each other. It is evident when another guest welcomes someone and offers to hang up a coat, or when they cheer each other on in the games they play or help each other out in the activities they do.Delicious home-cooked meals are enjoyed together at the large dining table. The aroma of home-cooking makes it feel just like home. Birthdays are always a happy celebration of life.Staff at Pleasantries is extremely caring. They all have a wonderful sense of humor, which is very contagious! It is evident whenever I stop there. There is lots of laughter. The staff truly cares about everyone. They respect each guest and make each one feel welcomed and valued. I never worry about my dad when he is at Pleasantries. I know that he is happy socializing with his peers. I know that he has made many new friends there.
“We have watched with great admiration, the way in which the Pleasantries program provides comfort, care and a safe social environment for seniors with memory loss. We have seen, in a very direct way, the very loving and emotionally supportive social space that Tammy has created for all her guests. We would, without any hesitation, urge anyone faced with the care of an elder with memory loss to investigate the Pleasantries program.”

“My mother attended Pleasantries. It is a very warm, respectful environment, perfect for the needs of a senior with or without memory issues. They were very attentive to their client’s needs. There were great activities and options to keep everyone happy and content. The staff is exceptional, always happy to see the clients and making everyone feel welcome and wanted. I know my mother loved going to Pleasantries and enjoyed the many activities and field trips. Thank you, Tammy and staff, for making her year wonderful.”
“Mom absolutely loves going to Pleasantries. She loves the friends she has made, the crafts she makes, the delicious meals, and above all you and your staff. You have made a huge difference in her life (and ours) and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”

“My mom is in mid-stage Alzheimer’s and my sister and I were very worried and stressed about what we were going to do to give her the best possible care. It was all encompassing and we investigated many options but none of them offered what we found at Pleasantries. The environment is warm and welcoming, mom interacts socially, plays games, does arts & crafts, gets some exercise, attends day trips, eats home cooked meals, and she has a blast. Tammy and her staff are wonderful and caring people who treat everyone with dignity and love. They understand the disease and have given my family peace of mind knowing that our mom is safe and loved. There is so much darkness associated with Alzheimer’s but for my family finding Pleasantries has been nothing but a ray of bright sunshine in our lives.”
